NSCDC is a paramilitary agency in Nigeria which works hand in hand with other paramilitary organizations in Nigeria. NSCDC which also means Nigeria Security and civil Defence corps which is always called civil defence pays their workers very well. Just like the other paramilitary organizations, the Civil Defence Salary, ranks and allowances are structured according to educational qualifications.
The NSCDC in Nigeria serves different functions which includes safeguarding lives and property, just like the Nigerian police, protecting critical national infrastructure, preventing and combating acts of terrorism, They also responds to emergencies such as natural disasters and pandemics. The NSCDC also helps maintain peace and harmony in society.
Before we talk about the salary of the NSCDC, we will first look at the way their ranks is structured. NSCDC Ranks
Those that joined the civil defence with SSCE certificate are placed at the rank of Assistant Cadet Inspector (ACI). Those joined the service with NCE or National Diploma are placed at the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASCI) as their starting rank. Graduates with BSC or HND are placed at the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Corps (DSC).

As we said earlier, the NSCDC salary is calculated based on the qualifications and years of service of the personnel. For example, A HND certificate holder who have worked in the Civil Defence for one year will not be paid the same salary as the one that has worked for four years. There will be a little different. Civil Defence Salary
SSCE certificate holders in civil defence are paid a monthly salary of ₦48,000 as starting salary. A National Diploma and NCE certificate holders are paid a monthly salary of about ₦156,000 as starting salary while the HND and the BSC certificate holders are paid about ₦212,000 as starting salary.

Civil Defence Salary 2024 And Ranks
- Assistant Cadet Inspector (ACI): Monthly salary of ₦48,200 and an annual salary of ₦576,200.
- Cadet Inspector (CI): Monthly salary of ₦73,200 and an annual salary of ₦876,200.
- Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASCI): Monthly salary of ₦127,200 and an annual salary of ₦1,524,200.
- Assistant Superintendent of Corps I (ASCI): Monthly salary of ₦156,200 and an annual salary of ₦1,872,200.
- Deputy Superintendent of Corps (DSC): Monthly salary of ₦212,200 and an annual salary of ₦2,544,200.
- Superintendent of Corps (SC): Monthly salary of ₦298,200 and an annual salary of ₦3,576,000.
- Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC): Monthly salary of ₦419,200 and an annual salary of ₦5,028,200.

- Assistant Commandant General of Corps (ACG): Monthly salary of ₦700,200 and an annual salary of ₦9,000,200.

Civil Defence Training Allowance
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) training allowance is between N12,000 to N40,000 per month. Please note that the training allowance is paid to only those who are on training.
