EFCC Salary 2024, Ranks And Allowance (Updated)

Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) is a paramilitary agency in Nigeria which was established in the year 2003 to tackle financial crimes and other types of money Laundering. Please note that EFCC is different from ICPC, though both of them is established for the purpose but at different levels. You can read about the difference between EFCC and ICPC. Talking about the EFCC ranks and salary, EFCC ranks and salary looks like that of other paramilitary organizations as they are also part of the paramilitary organizations in Nigeria. Now let’s start with the EFCC ranks.

EFCC Salary

EFCC officers who joined the EFCC with SSCE certificate are given the rank of Assistant Detective Superintendent (ADS), while those who joined the EFCC as a graduate (HND and BSC holders) are given the rank of Chief Detective Superintendent (CDS). Those that joined the EFCC using National Diploma or NCE certificate are given the rank of Detective Superintendent (DS).

EFCC Ranks

  • Assistant Detective Superintendent (ADS):
    The Assistant Detective Superintendent is the entry-level rank in the EFCC. The ADS is required to have at least five years of experience in law enforcement or auditing.
  • Detective Superintendent (DS):
    The Detective Superintendent is the second rank in the EFCC. The DS is expected to have a minimum of 10 years of law enforcement or auditing experience.
  • Chief Detective Superintendent (CDS):
    Chief Detective Superintendent is the third rank in the EFCC. It requires a minimum of 15 years of law enforcement or auditing experience.
  • Assistant Director (AD):
    The Assistant Director is the rank above Chief Detective Superintendent. It requires a minimum of 20 years of law enforcement or auditing experience.
  • Deputy Director (DD):
    The Deputy Director is the second-highest rank in the EFCC. It requires a minimum of 25 years of law enforcement or auditing experience.
  • Director:
    The Director is the highest rank in the EFCC. The position is occupied by one of the most experienced and qualified law enforcement officials in Nigeria.

The above ranks are the ranks which is applicable in the EFCC. Now let’s list the salary structure of EFCC.

EFCC Salary

The EFCC salary structure is based on Consolidated Paramilitary Salary Structure which is known as (CONPASS). It is used to specify the salaries of all paramilitary agencies in Nigeria.

EFCC officers who joined the EFCC with SSCE certificate are given the rank of Assistant Detective Superintendent (ADS) and are paid about N140,200 monthly as starting salary. Those who joined the EFCC as a graduate (HND and BSC) are given the rank of Chief Detective Superintendent (CDS) and are paid about N170,200 monthly as their starting salary. National Diploma or NCE certificate holders in EFCC are given the rank of Detective Superintendent (DS) and are paid about N150,200 monthly.

  • Assistant Detective Superintendent (ADS) – N140,200 monthly.
  • Detective Superintendent (DS) – N150,200 monthly.
  • Chief Detective Superintendent (CDS) – N170,200 monthly.
  • Assistant Director (AD) – N190,200 monthly.
  • Deputy Director (DD) – N250,200 monthly.
  • Director – N300,200 monthly.

The ranks and salary stated above are the ranks which is obtainable when you join the EFCC in Nigeria. Then apart from the salary which we just listed, the EFCC Officers are also entitled to some little allowance from training until they become full member of EFCC. Let’s start by talking about the training allowance.

EFCC Training Allowance

Generally, the EFCC training allowance ranges from N15,000 – N35,000 monthly depending on the qualification of the trainee. Please note that the EFCC training allowance is strictly for trainees who are under training as the allowance will be terminated once they graduate from training. After the termination of the training allowance, that is where other allowances comes in. Below are other allowances in the EFCC.

  • Special Allowance.
  • Transport Allowance.
  • Hazard Allowance.
  • Uniform Allowance.
  • Transport Allowance.
  • Operation Allowance.

The allowances mentioned above are said to be few allowances paid to EFCC officials. Please note that the figures paid for each of the allowance mentioned above is yet to be confirmed.
